Daffodil International University (DIU) Air Rover Scout Group organized Scouts’ Own and 6th Oath Camp Certificate Distribution Ceremony followed by Iftar Mahfil Thursday at DIU Auditorium in the capital.
Prof Dr Yousuf Mahabubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU and President, DIU Air Rover Scout Group presided over the program. Scouter Zamil Ahmed, Deputy National Commissioner (Training), Bangladesh Scouts was present as the chief guest in the program.
Atiquzzaman Ripon, Deputy National Commissioner, Wing Commander Sheikh Zakir Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner, Flight Lt. M. Shah Alam, Region Secretary and Shamsul Haque, Director of Bangladesh Scouts were present as the Special Guests. The function was also addressed by Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, Senior Assistant Director and Farhana Rahman Setu (PRS) of DIU Air Rover Scout Group.
Addressing as the chief guest Scouter Zamil Ahmed said, Scouting can play a vital role in developing career and building character of a student though which students can practice of becoming a successful leader and contribute a lot to the society. He also said, introducing Rover Movement at the university, Daffodil International University has set an example to be followed by other private universities. He praised the performance of DIU Air Rover Scout Group and urged the students to be more active and participative in rover movement.
In his Presidential address, Prof Dr Yousuf Mahabubul Islam said, Scouting teaches the rovers how to lead a disciplined life and help to grow leadership. He urged the Rovers to follow and abide by the rules of Scout Motto which will help them to build themselves as a complete human being and inspire them to serve to mankind. He also said, introducing Rover Movement at the university, Daffodil International University has set an example to be followed by other private universities.
A large number of Rovers from different units and regions, scout personnels including Trainers, Leaders, DIU Air Rovers (existing and former) participated in this program.
