Lovers die hanging from same rope in Barishal

Police recovered the bodies of a young man and a teenage girl hanging from the same rope tied to a mango tree at Indurkani village in Ujirpur upazila on Tuesday
The deceased were identified as Prince, 25 of the Indurkani village and Trishna, 17 of Agailjhara upazila.
According to local sources, Prince, father of a child, had developed an extra marital relation with Trishna two months ago. Following this, there had been a dispute between the two families.
Police primarily assumed that they hanged themselves following dispute between their families.
Police also recovered a suicide note from Prince’s mobile phone, said Ziaul Ahsan, officer-in-charge of Ujirpur Police Station.

Sports organizer Rafiqul Islam dies of Covid-19 in Khulna

Former vice- president of Khulna divisional and district Krira Sangstha died of Covid-19 at a hospital in Khulna on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Sardar Rafiqul Islam, 68, of Choto Mirjapur area in the city.
Dr Sheikh Fariduddin, resident medical officer of Khulna Medical College Hospital, said coronavirus-infected Rafiqul was brought to the hospital at 10 pm Monday and later he was referred to a coronavirus dedicated hospital in the city.
He breathed his last at the hospital at 4 am on Tuesday, he added.
Islam was the director of Premier Division Cricket Club Kapilmuni Krira Shikkha Protisthan (KKSP). He was also a lifelong member of Khulna Abahani Krira Chakra, Mohammedan Sporting Club and Sonali Otit Club.
Besides cricket, he also organized a number of volleyball, handball and basketball teams in the district level.

4 go missing as two boats sink in Padma

Four day labourers went missing as two boat capsized in the Padma River in Sadipur union in Kumarkhali upazila on Tuesday morning.
The missing people are- Jewel, 30, son of Haran Sheikh, Jakir, 25, son of Nozu, Shariful, 31, son of Jalil and Juba, 32, all are residents of Jamalpur village in Bahadurpur union of Bheramara upazila.
Tofazzal Hossain, union parishad chairman of Sadipur union, said the two boats carrying 13 day labourers were going to a char of the Padma river for cutting grass.
At one stage, the two boats sank in the middle of the river due to strong current around 8:30am.
Though nine labourers managed to swim ashore, four went missing, he said.
Omio Kumar Biswas , duty officer of Kumarkhali fire service, said a fire service team of Pabna reached the spot and they are conducting rescue drive.

Three of a family killed in Cumilla road crash

Three members of a family were killed as a private cur overturned on Daudkandi-Chandpur Matlab road in Cumilla on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sirajul Islam, 80, his wife Jahanara Begum, 70, and their twelve-year-old grandson Abu Bakar Siddique.
Barkar’s father, who was driving the car, escaped unhurt.
Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Daudkandi Police Station, said the private car overturned and fell into a roadside ditch at around 5am, leaving the trio dead on the spot.
Police recovered the bodies, he added.
Family sources said that the victims were going to Faridganj upazila in Chandpur from Dhaka.
