AZM Nasiruddin of Chittagong and Ashiqur Rahman Miku of Narail have been elected president and secretary general of Bangladesh District & Divisional Sports Organizers Council (BDDSOC) in the 5th annual general meeting of the council in Cox’s Bazar.
General Secretary of Chittagong DSA AZM Nasiruddin, who is also the Vice-President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), was unanimously elected for the hot seat of president in the AGM on Monday. He replaced Yousuf Jamil Babu of Comilla DSA.
General secretary of Bangladesh Volleyball Federation & Narail DSA, and Deputy Secretary General of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Ashiqur Rahman Miku has been elected as secretary general for the 3rd time in a row through direct voting of councilors, said a press release.
BCB president Nazmul Hasan Papon MP has been made the chief adviser of the council while BFF president Kazi M Salahuddin and BOA secretary general Syed Shahed Reza named as advisers.
General secretaries of 52 district sports associations were present in the AGM, which was conducted by general secretary of Chittagong Divisional Sports Association Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir.
Seven elected vice-presidents: Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir (Chittagong), Kutubuddin Aksir (Dhaka), Mahmud Jamal (Rajshahi), Mortuza Rashid Dara (Khulna), Advocate Anwarul Islam, Saiful Alam Chowdhury Nadel, Alamgir Alo while outgoing president Yousuf Jamil Babu named as number one member of the committee.
The committee will select other office bearers and members by next 15 days.
