The long cherished district council election held in Chittagong peacefully
The polling held in city and upazilas of the district in 15 centres from 9 am to 4 pm. While contacted Deputy commissioner of Chittagong md. Shamsul Arefin told that the elections in 15 centres of the district ended peacefully.
Mentionable that MA Salam, former administrator of Chittagong zila parishad and general secretary of AL north district unit and six members were elected unopposed earlier. In remaining 21 members post, 53 candidates contested , sources said. Counting of votes continuing till writing this report.
