Dismissal sought for Covid-19 infected postal DG who met PM

Two Supreme Court lawyers on Saturday served a legal notice to the authorities concerned seeking the dismissal of the Directorate General of Post director general Sudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra for meeting prime minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhavan suppressing the information of his COVID-19 infection.
Supreme Court lawyers Muhammad Humayun Kabir and Mohammed Kausar served the notice through an email addressing the principal secretary of Prime Minister Office, public administration secretary, post and telecommunication secretary, director general of Directorate General of Health Services and director of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research.
In the notice, they said that Sudhangshu tested positive for COVID-19 at IEDCR on August 13 and he visited Ganabhavan and went in close distance of the prime minister Sheikh Hasina on August 14.
On the occasion, prime minister Hasina released commemorative postage stamps marking the National Mourning Day and the 45th death anniversary of county’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
