Relief and Disaster Management Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya on Monday asked disaster management committees of district, upazila and poura (Municipal) areas to submit reports on causalities and damages caused by earthquake early on Monday.
The minister gave the direction at a meeting on ‘damages and causalities due to earthquake and preparedness’ at secretariat.
Emphasizing on creating awareness to face earthquake, Maya also asked to follow building codes while construct structures to be safe at the time of natural disasters.
Almost entire country was jolted strongly as a strong 6.6 magnitude earthquake hit Indian state Manipur.
At least three persons died of cardiac arrest in Dhaka, Rajshahi and Lalmonirhat and over 40 others mostly students of Dhaka University were injured.
