A young man with physical disabilities was beaten to death allegedly by some local people at Nishchintapur village in Mirpur upazila on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mir Shahin,30, son of Rezwan Ali, a resident of Khayerchara village of the upazila.
Locals alleged some local people, including Anis, used to tease Shahin out of fun.
On Sunday morning, Shahin locked into an altercation with some local people as they teased him as usual.
At one stage, they beat up him mercilessly, leaving him critically injured.
Later, Shahin was rushed to Kushtia General Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead.
Officer-in-charge of Mirpur Police Station Kazi Jalal Uddin confirmed the incident.
