Digitization process underway in madrasa education

 As part of massive modernization campaign in all education systems, the government is launching different programmes to digitize madrasa education, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said.
“Digitization process is underway for introducing an effective and time-befitting madarsa education system,” he told a workshop on “Interactive Digital Madrasa Textbook (IDMT)” at the National Academy for Educational Management(NAEM) here.
Education Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain Director General of Directorate of Secondary Education Prof Fahima Khatun, among others, addressed the workshop.
BNP-Jamaat government did not do anything during their tenure for improving madrasa education, Nahid said adding, “We have constructed 1300 new buildings for madrasa education and more 1800 buildings will be constructed in future for its expansion in the country.”
Like general education system, madrasa education is being modernized incorporating scientific and technological knowledge to create skilled workforce, the minister added.
At the inaugural function of the workshop, Acting Chairman of madrasa Board AKM Saif Ullah said four textbooks — Quran Mazid, Akaid and Fiqah, Arabic first paper and Arabic second paper of class six at madrasa education are being converted into digital version under Interactive Digital Madrasa textbook programme.
The madrasa education is implementing IDMT development programmes with financial support of Secondary Education Sector Investment Prpogramme, he added.
