Digital system reduces corruption

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said the introduction of digital system has significantly reduced corruptions in different public services.
“As part of the massive digitization campaign, the government has introduced ICT-based public services to supplement the efforts of combating corruption from the society,” he said this on Friday at laptop distribution programme for primary teachers in Faridpur.
The programme organized by Sadar Upazila administration was held at the minister’s Badarpur residence in Faridpur town.
The minister said the country witnessed remarkable progress in the ICT sector as the government has implemented different programmes.
He said, “We have to promote ICT-based services in all spheres of development to turn Bangladesh into a middle-income country by 2021.”
Sadar Upazila Chairman Khandaker Mohtesham Hossain Babor, Sadar UNO Probhangshu Shome Mohan, District Priimary Education Officer Shibpodo Dey spoke at the function.
Besides, Faridpur Zila Parishad Chairman Lokman Hossain Mridah, Deputy Director of Local Govt (DDLG) Abu Nayeem Md.Abdus Sabur, ADC (genaral) Eradul Haque and Kotwali AL president Abdur Razzak Molla, among others, attended the function.
A total of 96 laptops were distributed to primary teachers and 61 poor people received taka five thousand each on the occasion.
