A three-day Digital Innovation Fair began at Moslehuddin Bhuiyan stadium in the town with a view to encouraging people to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to build “Digital Bangladesh” as envisioned by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Kamal Hossian inaugurated the fair as the chief guest on Wednesday with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Suriaya Begum in the chair.
District Administration with the cooperation of the government under the Access to Information (a2i) proramme of the Prime Minister’s Office organised the function.
The inaugural function was also addressed, among others, by District Fisheries Officer Chowdhury Mohammad Abul Faraha, President of Narsingdi Press club Habibur Rahman, former Convener of Narsingdi Press Club and BSS correspondent Mohammad Abu Taher and Monitoring and Evaluation officer, Agriculture Information Service Mohammad Ziaur Rahman.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief said the main object of the fair is to inform the people about the government services through online.
A total of 24 digital innovation stalls from different government and private organizations are participating in the fair.
