Digital app ‘Nogor’ to receive complaints

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Tuesday launched a digital application titled ‘Nogor’ to receive complaints from city dwellers.
LGRD and Cooperative Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain inaugurated the digital app at an event at the city’s Krishibid Institution Bangladesh. Chaired by DNCC Mayor Annisul Huq, the event was addressed, among others, by State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bangladesh University Nusrat Jamil Azher.
Through the Nogor app, one can place complaints and opinions directly to DNCC authorities over sufferings and problems related to seven prime issues-road, streetlights, wastage, drainage, mosquito, illegal occupation, bride and corruption. The city dwellers can also send the image of any problem and irregularities to the DNCC using the mobile app. Besides, the digital app can help the city dwellers avail themselves of the services of the city corporation as they can easily know the procedures and get online forms in this regard through the application. The mobile application can also be used as security purpose as anyone can trace his dearest and nearest one and know whether s/he is in danger.
If anyone having application in the mobile phone falls in danger, s/he can seek help from the family members and the DNCC authorities by just clicking a button ‘SOS’ (Save Our Souls). If the SOS button is once pressed, the application will automatically send location of the victim, image and voices, recorded from the spot, to the family members and the DNCC authorities within few seconds.
To use the application, anyone will have to download ‘Nogor’ application from Google play store in cellphone having internet connection. A presentation was made over the application at the launching event, jointly arranged by DNCC and Bangladesh University.
