A Dhaka court yesterday granted bail to DIG (Prisons) Bazlur Rashid in a case filed for accumulating illegal wealth worth Tk 3.25 crore.
Judge Iqbal Hossain of the Special Judge Court-5 of Dhaka passed the order on Thursday. The court fixed November 22 to record the depositions of the witnesses.
Earlier, on October 22, the court framed charges in the case against the accused. On the same day,

Earlier, on October 22, the court framed charges in the case against the accused. On the same day,
the lawyer of the accused sought bail for Bazlur Rashid while the court fixed October 29 to pass order about his bail.
On August 26, Investigation Officer of the case Md Nasir Uddin , who is also a Deputy Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission, submitted the charge-sheet to the court. Later, on September 1, Metropolitan Senior Special Judge of Dhaka KM Imrul Kayes transferred the case to the present court for quick trial.
