Speakers at a participatory discussion have urged the diabetic patients for maintaining disciplined life, taking balanced food and conducting regular physical exercise for controlling the silent killer disease to live long.
They called upon the physicians and health service providers for conducting regular check up of the diabetic patients to inspire them in building habit for balanced food and regular physical exercise to make their life normal and longer.
Civil Surgeon Office of Rajshahi organized the discussion in its office premises on Thursday to mark the World Health Day-2016. “Make Healthy Choices Everyday Keep Diabetics at Day” was the main theme of the day.
Various non-government development and voluntary organizations like Damien Foundation, Social Marketing Company (SMC), Light House, Tilottoma, BRAC, FPAB and Ashakta Punarbashan Sangstha (APOSH) joined the rally.
Civil Surgeon Dr Nilufar Ferdous, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Farhana Haque, Divisional Surveillance Medical Officer of World Health Organization Dr Nurul Islam, Urban Dispensary Medical Officer Dr Farid Hossain, Senior Health Education Officer Sazzad Hossain and BRAC District Representative Jahedul Islam addressed the discussion, among others.
