Dhaka University Club formed in London

Former students of Dhaka University staying at different places of the United Kingdom (UK) on Monday formed a club named ‘Dhaka University Club, UK’ in London with an aim to strengthen the relationship among the Alumni members.
Around 150 former graduates of the university and their family members were present in the programme held at Ilford town of east London, said a press release.
British lawmaker Sam Tarry, Political Secretary of Bangladesh High Commission, London AFM Zahidul Islam and President of DU Alumni Association, UK Anis Rahman Ovi, among others, were present on the occasion. The organization will also work to enhance the relation of Dhaka University with the other universities of the UK to strengthen academic collaboration.
At the beginning of the programme, a painting competition was held among children, titled ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ marking the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, organised by former students of DU Fine Arts Faculty – Suvra Mostafa and Kamrul Ahsan.
