Dhaka United Sports Club will face Bangladesh Boys Club today in the opening match of the Bangal Group Senior Division Football League at the Bir Sreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur. The match starts at 3.30 pm.
Minister for Commerce Tofail Ahmed will inaugurate the football meet as the chief guest.
President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Kazi Salahuddin, Senior Vice-President of BFF Abdus Salam Murshedy, Member of the Federation Sheikh Maruf Hasan and Vice-Chairman of Bengal Group of Industries Jasim Uddin will be present at the time.
To mark the ensuing football competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation House on Thursday.
Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation Abdus Salam Murshedy, Member of BFF Sheikh Maruf Hasan, Vice-Chairman of Bengal Group of Industries Jasim Uddin, General Secretary of BFF Abu Nayeem Md Shohag spoke at the conference.
Dhaka Metropolis Football League Committee has arranged the football competition under supervision of Bangladesh Football Federation with the financial assistance of Bengal Group of Industries.
A total of ten teams will take part in the double league basis football meet.
They are: Dhaka United Sports Club, Jatrabari Krira Chakra, Fakirerpool Youngmens Club, Dhaka Wanderers Club, T&T Club Motijheel, Mohakhali XI, Bassabo Tarun Sangha, Friends Social Welfare Organization, Shadhinata Krira Sanga and Bangladesh Boys Club.
The budget of the league has been estimated at Tk 25,00,000 while Bengal Group of Industries has given Tk 15,00,000 to Bangladesh Football Federation and the Federation will bear rest of the expenditure from its own fund.
