Dhaka Tribune emerged as the champions of the Walton-BSJC Media Cup Cricket Tournament when they defeated Channel i by 24 runs in the final at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first Dhaka Tribune scored 85 runs for the loss of all in the stipulated six overs and then they restricted Channel i to 61 for the loss of three wickets in six overs.
Atiqur of Dhaka Tribune made 25 and bagged one wicket. Later, he was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Former national cricketer Mohammad Ashraful of Bangladesh Protidin was adjudged the Man of the Tournament.
After the final match Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, MP distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest while President of Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club and Director of Bangladesh Cricket Board Manzoor Kader, Executive Director of Walton Group SM Zahid Hasan, Operative Director of Walton Group Uday Hakim, Managing Director of Bailey Group Md Wahiduzzaman were with him as special guests.
President of Bangladesh Sports Journalists Community (BSJC) Asif Iqbal, General Secretary of BSJC Shafiqul Islam Shamim, Chairman of the Tournament Committee Monwar Haque, Co-Chairman of the Tournament Committee Md Main Uddin Tareq, Co-Chairman of the Tournament Committee Kamal Hossain Bablu were present at the time.
