Dhaka rout Dinajpur 11-6 in Nat’l Womens’s Handball opener

Dhaka crushed Dinajpur by 11-6 goals in the opening match of the 26th National Women’s Handball tournament at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium here on Monday.
In the other opening day’s matches at the same venue, Panchagarh vanquished Madaripur by 31-0 goals; Dhaka notched 25-0 goals victory over Feni; Naogaon tasted 22-0 victory against Jamalpur; Panchagarh outplayed Jamalpur by 20-2 goals; Dinajpur beat Satkhira by 18-9 goals; Naogaon crushed Madaripur by 21-0 goals and Satkhira defeated Feni by 15-5 goals.
Meanwhile, in another venue matches at Sultana Kamal Women’s Sports Complex in Dhanmondi, Faridpur crushed Chuadanga 20-3 goals; Police team won against Kishorganj by 15-9 goals; Kushtia defeated Gopalganj by 14-5 goals and Jessore beat Narail by 11-4 goals.
Finance Minister A M A Muhith inaugurated the meet as the chief guest.
Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF) president AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul, general secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) secretary general Syed Shahed Reza and sponsor organisition ‘Exim Bank’ chairman Md Nazrul Islam Mazumder also present in the opening function with others.
A total of 18 teams spilt in four groups, including three services and 15 district teams, will compete in the week-long national meet, organized by Bangladesh Handball Federation.
