UNB, Dhaka :
Bangladesh has replied to the United Nations and other international bodies that asked Bangladesh to halt the execution of war criminal and Jamaat leader M Kamaruzzaman.
“An appropriate reply is usually given regarding such requests, and the reply has been given,” said Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque on Saturday.
He said, Bangladesh’s position has been conveyed to them ‘very clearly’ in line with the situation.
An order from the Home Ministry for executing the death sentence of convicted war criminal Jamaat leader M Kamaruzzaman reached the Dhaka Central Jail authorities on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier, State Minister for Home Asaduzzamn Khan told UNB that the jail authorities have completed all the preparations for the execution of the convicted war criminal.
