Foreign cricketers to be allowed to play: Dhaka Premier Cricket to start on March 15

The Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League will start on March 15. A total of 11 teams will take part in the upcoming cricket competition, the most prestigious domestic cricket competition of the country. They are: Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Prime Bank CC, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, Gazi Group Cricketers, Shinepukur CC, Khelaghor SKS, Legends of Rupganj, Brothers Union, City Club and Rupganj Tigers. City Bank and Rupganj Tigers have been promoted from the first division.
The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis (CCDM), a sister concern of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), will arrange the gala cricket meet.
A foreign player will be allowed to play for a participating team of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League. According to the by-laws of the cricket competition, the participating teams have signed agreements with the foreign players.
Indian batter Hanuma Vihari and Najibullah Zadran from Afghanistan will play for the defending champions Dhaka Abahani Limited. Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez will play for Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club. Prime Bank CC has included Indian cricketer Abhimanyu Easwaran in their squad.
Coach of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Sarwar Imran said, ” We will get Mohammad Hafeez from the very beginning of the competition.”
The Dhaka Premier Division Premier Division Cricket League- will be held in 50-over-a-side format.
The logo-unveiling programme of the League will be held on March 14.
Meanwhile, the CCDM has completed the players’ transfer window of local players.
The matches of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) Grounds in Savar. The Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium at Fatullah, Narayanganj will be the alternate venue.
