Dhaka Mohammedan SC made a flying start to the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League crushing Chittagong Abahani by 5-0 goals in their first match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
In the second match of the day, Brothers Union Club drew goalless with Team BJMC at the same venue.
The Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura put Mohammedan DC ahead in the 59th minute by a cool header (1-0).
Towhidul Alam Sobuj doubled the margin for the traditional black and white team in the 66th minute by a placing shot, capitalising on a long pass of Mobarak Hossain (2-0).
Sabuj scored his second and the 3rd goal for Mohammedan SC in the 70th minute by a re-bounder when an attempt of his mate Mohammad Ibrahim came his way from opponent goalie Ershad (3-0).
Ismael Bangoura netted his 2nd and the 4th goal for Mohammedan in the 85th minute by a ground shot, also from a re-bounder, when an attempt of Jonny came his way hitting custodian Ershad again (4-0).
In the stoppage time, Arup Baidya sealed the fate of the match scoring the 5th goal for Mohammedan by a side-footed placing shot off a square pass of Bangoura (5-0).
Earlier, Chittagong Abahani forward Sumon Ali carrying an Abdul Hannan Raju through pass went past the Mohammedan defense but his attempt hit the side post from a close.
In the 50th minute, Mohammedan forward Touhidul Alam Sabuj placed the ball over Abahani goalie Ershad but defender Prodip Barua cleared the ball from the goal-line.
