Dhaka Metro and Khulna registered their first wins in the third round matches of the four-day National Cricket League (NCL) against their respective rivals after the four day’s play at the country’s two separate venues on Tuesday.
Dhaka Metro beat Dhaka Division by 3 wickets in the tier-1 match at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Khulna tasted a 13-run victory over Rangpur in another tier-1 match at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.
The two other third round tier-2 league matches ended in draw, also on day four. Chaittagong played a draw against Barisal at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Sylhet drew with Rajshahi at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
Earlier in the second round of the league, Dhaka Division and Rajshahi tasted their first victories while all the sides played draw in the first round of the 17th edition first class domestic cricket.
Dhaka Metro vs Dhaka Division
Dhaka Division (327 runs in the first innings) resumed the second innings with overnight 63 for 4 in 32 overs and were all out for a meager 115 runs in 69.5 overs.
Overnight batsman Nadif Chowdhury (25 off 95b; 3×4) was the only double figure scorer for Dhaka Div on day four.
Sharifullah grabbed four wickets for economic 21 runs while Shahidul Islam, Mahmudullah and Arafat Sunny took two wickets each for the side 19, 24 and 26 runs respectively in the first innings.
Dhaka Metro, having 352 runs in the first innings, opened the second innings and played 32.5 overs on day four to score 93 for 7.
Skipper Mahmudullah scored team highest unbeaten 45 runs off 100 balls with four fours while opener Shykat Ali and number seven Sharifullah added 14 runs each.
Mosharraf Hossain bagged four wickets for 41 runs while Mahbubul Alam, Nazmul Islam and Mohammad Sharif took one wicket each in the second innings.

Overnight Naeem Islam scored 38 runs off 124 balls with three fours while Ariful Haque added 20 runs on day four.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz and veteran spinner Abdur Razzak captured four wickets each in the innings conceding 53 and 97 runs respectively for Rangpur.
