The Walton 12th Dhaka ITF Taekwon-Do Championship begins today at the gymnasium of National Sports Council.
Bangladesh International Taekwon-Do Association will arrange the competition under auspices of Walton Group. Bangladesh International Taekowon-Do Association is affiliated to International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).
Secretary of National Sports Council Ashok Kumar Biswas will formally open today the Taekwon-Do meet.
Regarding the ensuing Taekwon-Do meet, a press conference was held at the conference room of National Sports Council on Sunday. Secretary General of Bangladesh International Taekwon-Do Association Solaiman Sikder, Operative Director and Head of Sports & Welfare Department of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn spoke at the conference.
The event of the Senior Division of the Men’s Division will be held in seven weight categories. The weight categories are: -50 kg, -57 kg, -64 kg, -71 kg, -78 kg, -85 kg, +85 kg.
The event of the Senior Division of the Women’s Division will be held in five weight categories. The weight categories are: -45 kg, -51 kg, -57 hg, -63 kg, -69 kg.
A total of 11 teams will compete in the Taekwon-Do championship.
