The 19th International Qirat Conference will begin today (Friday) at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka.
The conference will be held at the district and divisional level and it will be concluded in a function in the capital on February 22.
International Quran Recitation Association (IQRA) will organise the programme.
Iran’s Qari Hameed Shakrenjead, Qari Yashar Chauhadar from Turkey, Qari Numan Pimbaiyabaya from
Philippines, Sheikh Abdurrahman Saadian from South Africa and Sheikh Yasser Mahmoud Sharqawi from Egypt will attend the conference.
Religious Affairs Minister Alhaj Advocate Sheikh Md. Abdullah will inaugurate the function as the chief guest. The ambassadors of different Muslim countries, Islamic Scholars of local and foreign countries as well as Quran E Hafez will attend the programme.
Bangladesh’s prominent Qari and Shikkhul Qurra Maulana Qari Muhammad Yusuf (Rah) started this traditional programme in 1966 with the help of the world’s greatest leading Qaris.
The president of IQRA Qari Shaikh Ahmad Bin Yusuf Al Azhari, one of the world’s best Qari, will preside at the conference.
President of Parliamentary Stabding Committee on Relgious Affairs Ministry Bazlul Haque Harun MP will be present in the function as the chief guest. Chairman of PHP Family and Chief Sponsor of Qirat Conference Sufi Muhammad Mizanur Rahman will be present here as special guest.
