U-18 Cricket: Dhaka Division South beat Barisal Division by 9-wkt

Dhaka Division South earned a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Barisal Division in the Young Tigers Under-18 National Cricket Tournament on the 3rd and final day at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium here on Wednesday.
Barisal Division, having 147 runs in the first innings, resumed the 2nd innings Wednesday morning with an overnight score 83 for 5 and were all out for 153 runs in 71.2 overs with tail-ender Sarder Yasin making 35 runs, apart from Mahmudur Rahman’s 37 and Mehedi Hasan’s 24 runs.
Sajid Hasan, who grabbed three wickets on the 2nd day (Tuesday), completed a five-wicket haul conceding 47 runs while Jubair Hossain and Shawkat Aziz took two wickets each.
Chasing a target of 107 runs, Dhaka Division with first innings total 194 runs, opened the 2nd innings and scored the match-winner 107 runs for the loss of one wicket in 29.3 overs, featuring 79 runs in 19.2 overs in the opening stand.
Opener Mohammad Naim contributed the team highest 57 runs off 109 balls hitting eight fours and one six while another opener Foysal Ahmed scored 57-ball 42 runs, featuring six boundaries.
Later, Jubair Hossain of Dhaka Division was adjudged the man of the match to receive trophy from former national cricketer Aftab Ahmed.
