Dhaka Div retain top slot in NCL beating Ctg Div by innings & 174 runs

Dhaka Division maintained the top slot after the third round of the four-day Walton 16th National Cricket League beating Chittagong Division by innings and 174 runs on the concluding day at BKSP ground-3 in Savar on Wednesday.
In another match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Rangpur Division notched a 193-run victory against Khulna Division to secure the second place in the points table. In the two other matches, Rajshahi Division played to a draw against Sylhet Division at BKSP Ground-2 while Dhaka Metro drew with Barisal Division at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
After the third round of the eight-team battle, all-win Dhaka Division earned 75 points while Rangpur Division secured 56 points with two wins and a draw.
Khulna Division slipped to the third poison from their previous second place bagging 52 points with two wins and one loss while Rajshahi Division followed with 40 points (one win, one loss and one draw).
Dhaka Metro (34 points), Sylhet Division (16 points), Barisal Division (12 points) and Chittagong Division (7 points) are in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th position respectively.
Chittagong Division vs Dhaka Division
Replying to Dhaka Division’s 616/5 (dec) in 1st innings, Chittagong Division (155 in 1st innings) resumed the second the innings on the fourth day with overnight 245 for 6 wickets in 81 overs and were dismissed for 287 runs in 99 overs.
Skipper Nazim Uddin (38), Md Saifuddin (27) and Mehedi Hasan Rana (14) were the double digit scorers for Chittagong Division on the fourth day.
Dewan Sabbir grabbed four wickets for 44 runs while Mosharraf Hossain took three wickets for 86 runs in the second innings.
Rony Talukder who hit a double ton of 201 runs for Dhaka Division in the first innings on the second day was adjudged man of the match.

Rangpur Division vs Khulna Division:
Rangpur Division (310 runs in 1st innings) resumed the second innings with overnight 218 runs for 8 in 90 overs and scored 259 without loss on the fourth day in 105 overs before they declared the innings.
Overnight Shurawardi Shuvo and Sajedul Islam scored not out 38 and 16 runs respectively.
Mostafizur Rahman captured four wickets for 33 runs while Ziaur Rahman, Murad Khan and Abdur Razzak took one wicket each for 28, 52 and 65 runs respectively in the second innings.
Khulan Division (213 runs in 1st innings) opened the second innings and were dismissed for 163 runs in 51 overs.
Nurul Hasan scored team highest 60 runs while Dollar Mahmud (23), Md Mithun (20), Amit Majumder (16) and Ziaur Rahman (13) were the other double digit scorers for the side.
Mahmudul Hasan claimed four wickets for 71 runs while Sanjit Saha and Shubhashis Roy grabbed two wickets for 22 and 29 runs respectively. Tanvir Haider and Sajedul Islam took one wicket each for 1 and 5 runs respectively.
Mahmudul Hasan of Rangpur Division, who grabbed nine wickets for 147 runs and scored 56 runs in the match, was adjudged man of the match.

Replying to Rajshahi Division’s 482 runs in the 1st innings, Sylhet Division (324 in 1st innings) resumed the second innings with overnight 42 for no loss and scored 335 runs for 3 wicketse in 93 overs, spurred by Rahatul Ferdous’ unbeaten century of 106 runs at stumps on the fourth and final day.
Overnight batsman Imtiaz Hossain scored 79 runs while number four Sayem Alam and opener Rajin Saleh scored 67 runs each.
Saqlain Sajib grabbed two wickets for 81 runs and Sanjamul Islam took one wicket for 56 runs.
Myshukur Rahman of Rajshahi Division, who hit a century of 158 runs for his side in the first innings, was adjudged man of the match.

Overnight batsmen Shadman Islam and Mehrab Hossain Jr were the notable contributors on the final day scoring 89 and 51 runs respectively.
Kamrul Islam grabbed three wickets for 55 runs on the fourth day.
In reply, Barisal Division (261 runs in 1st innings) opened the second innings and riding on a Fazle Rabbi unbeaten century of 100 runs, scored 267 runs for 2 wickets in 69 overs at stumps.
Shahriar Nafees (78), Shajib (not out 58) and Saif Hasan (28) were the other scorers in the second innings. Asif Ahmed grabbed the day’s two wickets for 41 runs. Sadman Islam, who hit a cencury of 140 runs for Dhaka Metro in the 1st innings and scored another 89 runs in the 2nd innings, was adjudged man of the match.
