National Cricket: Dhaka Div play draw against Sylhet Div

Defendig champions and also league leader Dhaka Division played a draw against lowly Sylhet Division in the 4th round of four-day-match Walton 16th National Cricket League (NCL) which concluded at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on Thursday.
In another match, Khulna Division registered an innings and 183 runs victory over Rajshahi Division at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricketr Stadium in Mirpur, also concluded on the fourth day today (Thursday).
In the two other league matches, Rangpur Division played a draw against Barisal Division while Dahka Metro also drew with Chittagong Division at BKSP Ground-2 and 3 respectively in Savar.
After the fourth round of the eight-team battle, Dhaka Division narrowly remained unbeaten and maintained the top slot securing 80 points from four matches.
Khulna Division returned to their previous second position bagging 75 points with three wins and a loss, putting Rangpur Division (63 points with two wins and two losses) down to the third place,.
Dhaka Metro leapfrogged Rajshahi Division to take fourth position securing 45 points with win-loss 1-1 and two draws while Rajshahi Division bagged 42 points with one win, two losses and one draw.
Sylhet, Barisal and Chittagong Divisions remained in their previous 6th, 7th and 8th places respectively.
Dhaka Division vs Sylhet Division
Trailinig by 215 runs against Sylhet Division (500 runs in 1st innings) on the fourth day, Dhaka Division (202 runs in 1st innings) resumed the second innings, targeting to avoid innings defeat, with overnight 83 for 3 in 40.5 overs and scored 175 runs for 5 wickets in 96 overs when the bails drawn for the final day.
Overnight batsman Nasiruddin Faroque scored team highest unbeaten 42 runs and Nadif Chowdhury added 26 runs while skipper Sharif (12) and Mosharraf Hossain (not out 9) were the other scorers on the fourth day.
Rahatul Ferdous grabbed four wickets for 56 runs and Alok Kapali took one wicket for 19 runs in the second innings.
Rajin Saleh, who made a century of 181 runs in the first innings for Sylhet Division, was adjudged man of the match.
Khulna vs Rajshahi
Targeting to avoid an innings defeat, Rajshahi Division (225 runs in 1st innings) trailed by 274 runs against Khulna Division (560 runs in 1rst innings) in the second innings on the fourth day.
Resuming the second innings with overnight 61 for 2 in 27 overs Rajshahi Division were dismissed for 152 runs in 74.1 overs on the final day.
Opener Myshukur Rahman scored team highest 47 runs while Forhad Hossain (25), Sanjamul Islam (not out 16), Shafiul Islam (13) and Hamidul Islam (11) were the other double digit contributors for the side on the day.
Veteran spinner Abdur Razzak grabbed five wickets for 52 runs and Mehedi Hasan Miraz captured three wickets for 60 runs in the second innings.
Tushar Imran, who hit unbeaten double ton scoring 203 runs in the first innings for Khulna, was adjudged man of the match.
Rangpur vs Barisal
Replying to Rangpur Division’s 518/9 (dec) in the 1st innings, Barisal Division resumed the first innings with overnight 416 for 4, at stumps in 106 overs and scored 668 runs for all in 171.5 overs, riding on the overnight fifth wicket pair of Mosaddek Hossain and Al-Amin who contributed 423 runs in 105.5 overs.
Mosaddek Hossain hit double ton scoring 250 runs to be adjudged man of the match while Al-Amin scored 199 runs, just short of 1 run from a double ton.
Nasum Ahmed (11) was the other double digit contributor for the side.
Tanvir Haider claimed four wickets for 79 runs while Dhiman Ghosh and Sanjit Shah took two wickets each for 35 and 151 runs respectively in the first innings.
Barisal Division opened the second innings and scored 65 runs without loss in 12.2 overs.
Opener Liton Kumar scored not out 52 runs and Tarik Ahmed made 9 runs.
Dhgaka Metro vs Chittagong
Replying to Dhaka Metro’s 496 in 1st innings, Chittagong Division (274 runs in 1st innings) resumed the second innings with overnight 126 for 3 in 30 overs and scored 376 runs for 6 in 101 overs.
Overnight batsman cum skipper Nazim Uddin hit unbeaten century of 108 runs in the second innings on the fourth day.
Tasamul Haque scored 80 runs while another overnight batsman Irfanm Sukkur added 43 runs for the side.
Sharif Ullah took three wickets for 59 runs while Asif Ahmed, Shahid and Elias Sunny took one wicket each for 24, 84 and 98 runs respectively.
Tasamul Haque scored 80 runs in the second innings and earlier made unbeaten century of 131 runs for Chittagong Division in the first innings to be adjudged man of the match.
