Dhaka Abahani Limited will take on Saif Sporting Club Limited in the opening match of the Walton Federation Cup Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today. The match kicks-off at 5.00 pm.
In the day’s other match, Brothers Union Limited will face Team BJMC at 7.15 pm at the same venue.
Bangladesh Football Federation has arranged the football meet, while Walton Group is the title sponsor of the competition.
A total of twelve teams splitting into four groups are taking part in the Federation Cup Football. Dhaka Abahani Limited, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, Saif Sporting Club Limited are in Group-A, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited, Farashganj Sporting Club are in Group-B, Chittagong Abahani Limited, Arambagh Krira Sangha, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited are in Group-C, Brothers Union Limited, Rahmatganj MFS, Team BJMC are in Group-D.
Top two teams from each group will get the tickets of the quarter-finals. The winners of the quarter-finals will move into the semi-finals. The winners of the two semi-finals will face each other in the final. The final will be held on June 4.
The champions will be awarded Taka five lakh, while the runners-up will be given Taka three lakh and the participating teams will get Taka one lakh each.
The highest scorer of the tournament and at the player of the competition will be awarded attractive prizes.
