Dhaka Abahani split points with Soccer Club

Dhaka Abahani Limited started their season’s campaign with a frustrating note after playing 1-1 draw with Soccer Club, Feni in the KFC Independence Cup Football Tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Sunday.
The traditional sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani took the lead in the injury time of the first half as their Senegalese forward Camara Sarra tapped the ball home beating Feni Soccer goalie Osman Gani after attacking midfielder Lee Tuck paved the way for the tall forward (1-0).
Soccer Club made the equalizer in the 85th minute from a penalty in rain marred 2nd half.
Soccer Club got the penalty when Abahani goalie Shakil brought down Soccer Club’s onrushing Twum Frank at the top of the box and Chomrin Rakhain made no mistake to convert the spot kick (1-1).
Earlier, Feni Soccer came close to score in the 24th minute, but Abahani custodian Sultan Ahmed Shakil dived to his left to save his castle foiling a low header of Nigerian forward Uche Felix
In the 36th minute, A header of defender Abu Sufian Zahid missed the Abahani crosspiece narrowly, off Uche Felix cutting the cross from the right flank.
