Dhaka Abahani Limited lost valuable points as they were forced to play 1-1 goal draw by Chittagong Abahani Limited in the Nitol Tata Bangladesh Premier Football League heldon Sunsay at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city.
However Abahani Limited dominated the match but lack of proper finishing touch they had to content with the day’s result.
Abahani took the lead in the 10th minute through their Cameroonian forward Ekele Patrick. Standing unmarked in the middle of the box the Cameroonian forward received a right flank cross of Ghanaian attacker Awudu Ibrahim and placed it into the near post net (1-0).
Dhaka Abahani wasted two chances in the 81st and 82nd minute but Arman Aziz and Abdul Baten Mojumdar Komol’s headed effort was punched to safety by Chittagong Abahani goalie Nahiduddin.
Chittagong Abahani restored the parity in the 85th minute when forward Sohel Miah ran past the Dhaka Abahani defence with a cross from Javed Khan and beat Dhaka Abahani goalie Shahidul Alam Sohel with left footer (1-1).
With the day’s feat, Dhaka Abahani have 18 points from eight matches while Chittagong Abahani bagged 5 points from nine outings.
