Dhaka Abahani Limited will face Chittagong Abahani Limited in the final of the Walton Federation Cup Football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium today. The match kicks-off at 7.30 pm.
Marking the gala final, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) House on Monday.
Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation Abdus Salam Murshedy, Operative Director and Head of Sports & Welfare Department of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Coach of Chittagong Abahani Limited Saiful Bari Titu, Captain of Chittagong Abahani Limited Zahidul Islam Zahid, Coach of Dhaka Abahani Limited Drago Mamic, Captain of Dhaka Abahani Limited Mamun Mia were present at the conference.
Saiful Bari said, ” We are happy that we have reached the final of Federation Cup. We have taken a one and half a month preparation for this tournament. Federation Cup is a warm-up tournament for Bangladesh Premier League Football. But I think it is a pride for us to take place in the final. To play in the final is to clinch the trophy. “
He said, ” Dhaka Abahani are the defending champions. They are good side. I don’t feel any pressure to play against them in the final.”
Zahidul Islam Zahid said, ” We have reached the final after performing well. Dhaka Abahani are strong opponents. We have to play our best against them, We shall try to present our best football.”
Drago Mamic said, ” My boys will perform their best in the final. I don’t know what is waiting for us. Hoping that my boys will show their best performance.”
Mamun Mia said, ” We are the defending champions. We shall try to retain our title. We shall play tomorrow to clinch the title. We have to perform our best in the final.”
FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn said, ” I hope we shall watch a grand final tomorrow. The champions will be awarded Taka six lakh, while the runners-up will get Taka four lakh.
The best player of the tournament and the highest scorer of the meet will be given a refrigerator each.”
It may be mentioned that the participating teams got Taka two lakh each.
