Abahani Limited Ltd started their 27th Federation Cup Football campaign on a winning note beating Farashganj SC by 2-0 goals in their first match at the Banglabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday. Hungarian forward Szabolcs Csorba scored both the goals for popular sky-yellow Dhanmondi outfit Abahani, one in either half of the day’s first match.Szabolcs Csorba put Abahani ahead in the added time of the first half by a cool touch over the onrushing Farashganj goalie Sujan Chowdhury, off a low cross from Abdul Baten Majumdar Komol (1-0)Szabolcs Csorba confirmed the Abahani victory scoring one more goal in the injury time of the last half, utilizing a pass from medio Emon Babu (2-0).Farashganj SC adopted a defensive strategy right from the very beginning of the match to restrict Abahani where Abahani linkman Abdul Baten Komol spoiled two half chances in the entire first 45 minutes. Komol managed another chance in the 52nd minute but his powerful left footer hit the side post of Farashgang SC.
