Dhaka Abahani Limited blanked Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-0 goals in the Manyavar Bangladesh Premier Football League held on Thursday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
After the barren first-half, Hungarian striker Szablocs Csorba broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute.
Midfielder Shakil Ahmed provided a through pass to Csorba who placed the ball into the net beating Chittagong Abahani goalie M Ershad (1-0).
Another Hungarian Gabor Demjen sealed the victory in the 79th minute from a penalty. Guinean defender Camara Mamado brought Abahani’s forward Csorba down in the middle of the box and referee whistled for spot kick. Gabor made no mistake to convert the spot kick (2-0). With the day’s win, Abahani raised their tally to 7 points from 3 matches while Chittagong Abahani yet to secure any points.
