DGHS reports 32 more corona deaths

Bangladesh has registered 32 deaths from Covid-19 in the 24 hours to Tuesday morning. With the latest development, the total number of deaths reached 6,448 in the country.
The country also logged a total of 451,990 coronavirus cases with 2,230 people testing positive over the same period.The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the latest figures on Covid-19 in the country with a press release on Tuesday.
Of the 32 deceased – 25 men and seven women – 24 were from Dhaka division, four from Chittagong, three from Rajshahi, and one from Rangpur.
Of the victims, 31 died at different hospitals and one at home.
So far, 4,955 men (76.85%) and 1,493 women (23.15%) have died from Covid-19 across the country.
Since the beginning, 3,422 have died in Dhaka division, 1,242 in Chittagong, 394 in Rajshahi, 488 in Khulna, 215 in Barishal, 263 in Sylhet, 292 in Rangpur, and 132 in Mymensingh.
The mortality rate against the total number of cases detected so far stands at 1.43%.
The health authorities said 2,266 people recovered from the disease over the preceding 24 hours.
So far, 366,877 patients – 81.17% – have made full recovery across the country.
As many as 15,018 samples, including the pending ones, were tested in the 117 authorized labs-government and private-across the country.

The latest figures show an infection rate of 14.85%. The overall infection rate of the country stands at 16.86%.
Currently, 12,543 people are in isolation and 40,014 are quarantined.
