Development work for an Ashrayan Project is progressing fast at Kholabari area under Fulchhari upazila amid much enthusiasm among the erosion victims.
Earth filling work of the project has been continuing under the direct supervision of upazila administration and upazila Relief and Rehabilitation office.
Bangladesh Army would construct a total of 220 houses with the financial support of the Ashsrayan project of Prime Minister’s office, official sources said.
After completing the construction work all the 220 houses would be handed over to the river eroded people of the upazila.
Earlier, upazila chairman Habibur Rahman formally inaugurated the earth filling work for the project on Friday as the chief guest.
