Despite Shakib shows well Tallawahs suffer defeat in CPL

Although Shakib Al Hasan showed a fine all-round performance in the 9th match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), his team Jamaica Tallawahs conceded a seven-wicket defeat against Guyana Amazon Warriors at Providence Stadium, Guyana on Friday (Bangladesh time).
World famed Bangladesh’s all-rounder Shakib scored 25 off 23 balls, including one six, and bagged one wicket for 21 runs in four overs.
Sent in to bat first, Tallawahs collected 100 for all in 18 overs that included Rovman Powell’s 38 off 42 with one boundary and one six. Opener Chadwick Walton stayed for 12 to be another double figure scorer for the side.
Veerasammy Permaul bagged three wickets for 20 runs to be adjudged man of the match. Sohail Tanvir, Rayad Emrit and Adam Zampa took two wickets each for 11, 17 and 26 runs respectively.
Amazon reached the winning target of 101 for the cost of 3 wickets in 18 overs, spurred by the unbeaten 4th wicket stand of 48 in 4.4 overs between Chris Lynn and Anthony Bramble.
Chris Lynn’s unbeaten 39 off 35 balls witnessed one boundary and three sixes while Anthony Bramble’s 27 off 18 balls one boundary and two sixes.
Number four batsman Jason Mohammed (22 off 34b; 1×4; 1×6) was bowled out by Shakib at 53/3 in 13.2 overs. Imad Wasim took two wickets for 15 runs for Tallawahs.
