Assailants posing as relatives have entered the residence of a DESCO engineer and hacked to death his wife and uncle in the capital’s Pallabi. The bodies of Sweety Khatun, 24, and Aminul Islam, 44, were found on the fourth floor of the house styled ‘Crystal de Amin’ located on Road 20, Pallabi police OC Ziauzzaman said on Wednesday. The house belongs to Jahid Hossain who is an engineer at DESCO. His uncle Aminul Islam came to visit them, said the DMP’s Assistant Commissioner for Pallabi zone, Kamal Hossain. ‘Sumon’, Jahid’s friend, told reporters from the scene that around noon two persons riding a motorcycle came to the house identifying themselves as relatives. “As Sweety opened the door, those men hacked her with sharp weapons. When the uncle tried to stop them, he was hacked as well.” Both of them died on the spot. The couple had been harassed by local extortionists several times asking for money, said Sumon.–bdnews24.com
