Rajeeb murder: Deposition of another witness recorded

The Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 of Dhaka yesterday recorded the deposition of another witness in case filed in connection with the killing of blogger Ahmed Rajeeb Haidar in the capital on February 15, 2013.
Judge Syed Ahammad of the tribunal recorded the depositions of witness Manik, 46, who is a
blacksmith. He told the court that accused Maksumul Hasan bought two nieces and four knives from his shop. While testifying, the witness identified the nieces and knives used, during the murder. Later, the judge fixed September 30 as the next date to record the depositions again in the case.
Of the 55 witnesses, the court recorded the depositions of 13 till Monday. Detective Branch Police Inspector Nibaran Chandra Barman submitted the charge sheet of the case against eight persons including Ansarullah Bangla Team chief Mufti Jasim Uddin Rahmani on January 28 of last year.
Rajeeb, a Gonojagoron Moncha activist was hacked to death at Pallabi in the city in February, 2013. His father Dr Nazimuddin Ahmed filed the murder case with Pallabi Police Station on February 16 of the same year.
