Another dengue patient died and 116 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till Saturday morning. The latest death was reported from Dhaka.
With this, the authorities recorded 18 deaths from the viral infection this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the deaths this year, 10 were reported from Cox’s Bazar while eight from Dhaka.
Ninety-six new patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka and 20 outside it, DGHS said, reports UNB.
A total of 430 dengue patients, including 364 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.
On June 21, the DGHS reported the first death of the season from the viral disease. In July, it recorded 1,571 dengue cases and nine deaths.
This year, the directorate has recorded 4,344 dengue cases and 3,896 recoveries so far.
