Democratisation of nat’l budget underscored

Democratisation in the process of formulation and implementation of the national budget could eliminate regional disparity in allocations to ensure uniform development in all regions of the country.
Besides, perpetration of region-based district level development budget with enhanced participation of the grassroots people would be more perfect and effective in ensuring balanced development for quicker national advancement.
The opinion came at a human chain programme organised by Rangpur district committee of the Democratic Budget Movement (DBM) demanding democratisation of the nation budget at Press Club premises in Rangpur yesterday.
Convener of the district committee of DBM and Rangpur Press Club President valiant freedom fighter Sadrul Alam Dulu presided over the human chain and rally programme.
Member-secretary of the district committee of DBM Abdus Salam, its members including development activists Mosfeka Razzaque and Nishat Ara, addressed the programme, among others.
The speakers demanded for strengthening of the local government bodies and ensuring enhanced participation of grassroots people in preparing district budget that will speak for the common people to ensure uniform development everywhere in the country.
