Delay of commissioning of Pahartali Haji camp in Chattpogram as Divisional Hajj Camp by the Ministry of Religious Affairs is not acceptable, said Hajj Jatri Kaylan Parishad (HJKP) .
HJKP said despite directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina three years ago, the concerned ministry yet to implement the PM’s directives.
The parishad also said if the ministry is so cordial towards hajj pilgrims, it may be commissioned easily at two newly constructed multistoried building in the erstwhile Pahartali Haji camp beside some existing previous installations for accommodating the pilgrims before departure to Saudi Arabia.
The reasons for delay of commissioning the divisional hajj camp in Chattogram best known to the concerned ministry, HJKP added.
The Parishad leaders expressed resentment and grieved at a meeting held at Hotel Paramount International auditorium on Saturday with its President Ahmadul Islam Chowdhury in the chair.
The meeting demanded to commission Hajj camp in two newly constructed buildings at old Hajj camp complex on emergency basis . Secretary General of HJKP Principal Dr Abdul Karim delivered address of welcome in the meeting duly moderated by Alhaj Saleh Ahmed Suleman.
