Defence Secretary Mohsin Chowdhury promoted to senior secretary

Defence Secretary Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury has been promoted to senior secretary of the government.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a gazette notification on Sunday in this regard.
Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury joined the Ministry of Defence on January 12, 2020 as defence secretary.
Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury became Defence Secretary in January this year. Prior to join there, he served as secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industries, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. and the Prime Minister’s Office.
He joined the government service as an officer of the BCS (Administration) cadre in 1988.
Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury passed B.Sc (Hons) in Soil Science in 1982 and M.Sc in 1983 from Dhaka University. Later, he obtained M.A in Governance Studies from Northern University in Dhaka.
He was born at Chouddagram upazila in Cumilla district on January 1, 1963.
It may be mentioned that coronavirus infected Defence Secretary Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury was shifted to intensive care unit (ICU) of the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka on early Saturday afternoon after his physical condition was deteriorated.
He is now undergoing treatment at there.
Earlier on Wednesday, Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury told media that his physical condition was not completely improved and he had been feeling weakness.
Chowdhury fell ill at the end of May. Later, his swab samples were tested and he was diagnosed with coronavirus infection.
At the beginning, he was at home quarantine. Later, he was admitted to the CMH for coronavirus treatment.
It may be mentioned that he is the younger brother of former principal secretary at the prime minister’s office Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury.
