Police recovered the decomposed body of a local businessman from Jhama bazar area here early Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Akhtaruzzaman Dablu, 40, son of Rokon Molla of Jhama village.
Being informed by locals that “bad smell” was coming out from a shop in Jhama bazar, police went to the spot and found the decomposed body hanging from the ceiling, said Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station.
Later, the body was sent to Magura Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed with Mohammadpur Police Station in this connection, said the OC adding that the victim was missing for last five days.
