Law Department became Champion and EEE Department became Runner Up in ‘Dr Aminul Islam Memorial Debate Fest-2018’ held at Daffodil International University (DIU) recently.
Freedom fighter of the country Khondokar Abdus Salam was present at the program as chief guest while Helena Islam, wife of Late Professor Aminul Islam, founder Vice Chancellor of DIU was present as special guest at the closing and prize giving ceremony at 71 milonayoton of DIU.
Prof Dr Farhana Helal Mehtab, Moderator of DIU Debating Club delivered welcome speech at the program. The program was presided over by M Mesbah Uddin Hasib, president, DIU Debating Club.
Inter department debate fest began on 15th March 2018 where 10 departments took part in Bangla Debate and 6 department took part in English Debate and Independence Day mixed up Debate competition.
Department of Law of DIU has become champion and Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering won runner up on Inter Department Bangla Debate. Tanni Ganguly was awarded as best debater.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering has won champion and Department of Textile Engineering won runner up in Inter Department English Debate. Tahmid Fahim, student of CSE was awarded as best English debater.
The team of Aymanul Islam, former student of Dhaka University, Nasir Uddin, former student of North South University and Mejbauddin Hasib, former student of DIU were won champion and team of Touhid Hossen, former student of East West University, Sinha Ibn Humayun, student of NSU and Sanaul Haq Himel, former student of United International University won runner up in Independence Day mixed up Debate competition. Amit Saha, student of DIU and Omar Faruq, student of DU awarded as best speaker.
