Death threat to judge, lawyers

Unknown miscreants have threatened to kill Joypurhat District and Session Judge, lawyers and some senior government officials. Besides, they have threatened of blowing up court buildings, Bar association office, DC Office, Police Lines, RAB office, BGB Camp, thana, Awami League office, education office, banks and financial institutions, hotel and restaurants, and government offices by suicide attacks and with powerful explosives. The miscreants have sent burial cloths also.
Joypurhat Sadar thana Officer-in-Charge Farid Hossain confirmed the report and said that Judge Abdur Rahim of District and Session Court lodged a general diary with the Sadar thana on Thursday.
He has been asked also to leave Joypurhat to save his life.
The miscreants issued the ultimatum in a hand-written letter. They have threatened of killing female judges also. Before it, on July 14, such ultimatum was given by mail.
However, Public Prosecutor Advocate Nripendranath Mandol said, the intimidation had been given during the trial of a murder case.
Additional Police Super Belayet Hossain said that police had taken the issue seriously to meet any emergency.
