State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Swadhinata Award and Ekushey Padak winning writer and novelist Rabeya Khatun.
In a condolence message on Monday, the state minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members, said a press release.
He said “Although Rabeya is known as a novelist, she was also involved in journalism and teaching for a long time. “
In his long career, she has enriched Bangla literature as well as awarded numerous prizes. She will be remembered for her literary work and creativity, he added.
In separate condolence messages, State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed and State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatunnesa Indira also expressed deep shock at the death of Rabeya Khatun.
They also conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
