State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Awami League lawmaker Md Israfil Alam, who died at a city hospital early on Monday morning.
In a condolence message on Monday, Khalid said, “The death of Israfil has created a vacuum in the political arena of the country.”
He prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
The ruling party lawmaker, from Naogaon-6 constituency, breathed his last at 6:30 am on Monday after suffering from diabetes and heart diseases at the age of 55.
