Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of renowned economist and professor of BRAC University Dr Mahbub Hossain.
In a message of condolence, Muhith said Mahbub was not only famous in the country, but he was also equally well-known as an economist at international level.
Mahbub made significant contribution in research at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in Philippines, the minister said.
The minister prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
