Today is the 44th death anniversary of martyred intellectual Prof Rafiqul Islam.
On this day in 1971, Pakistani occupation forces picked up Rafiqul, a teacher of the Bengali department of Darshana College, from his residence in Kushtia. Prof Rafiqul neither returned. His body was ever found either.
On the occasion, cooked foods will be distributed among the destitute. All the relatives and well-wishers of the deceased have been requested to pray for the salvation of his departed soul.
