The 1oth death anniversary of Engineer Kamrul Islam Siddique, founding chief engineer of Local Government Engineering Department( LGED) and former chairman of Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) , was observed on Friday , says a press release.
A Doa Mahfil was held at LGED Headquarters , Agargaon in the city on Friday . Different organizations observed his death anniversary through various programmes.
Siddique, also a former secretary of the government , died of a cardiac arrest in the USA on September 1, 2008.
He is considered as a pioneer of rural and socio-economic development of the country. He contributed a lot to establishing many social welfare and religious institutions.
