Today is the fourth death anniversary of Dr. Syed Yousuf Hassan. He actively participated in the language movement of 1952 and went to prison couple of times.
He was one of the founding members of the NAP (Muzaffar) and was very active in the progressive movement of this county during that time.
The then Government of Pakistan confiscated his passport and had cancelled his citizenship while he was abroad.
He visited China in 1952 to attend Asia Pacific Peace Conference along with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Ataur Rahman, Manik Mia and Khandokar Illias. He was the President of Aligarh Old Boys Association of Bangladesh at the time of his death.
He was honoured by Bangla Academy, Shilpakala Academy and many other organizations for his contribution in the Language Movement.
